Keenan has spent thirteen years building compliance infrastructure inside major college athletics. He currently serves as Associate Athletics Director for Compliance at Texas Tech, following roles at Tennessee, Stanford, and LSU.
His professional background is not typical for a consumer products founder — and that is exactly the point. Compliance at that level means creating order at an institutional scale: working across athletes, agents, National Governing Bodies, and multiple layers of legislation, governance, and institutional policy, and deploying the software systems that keep it all enforceable. It means operating with precision inside environments that do not tolerate error.

For our founder, Keenan Johns, that moment happened while walking through a grocery store carrying his testosterone replacement therapy supplies in two oversized pharmacy bags. Prescription labels were visible. The contents were obvious. Coworkers were nearby. There was no discreet way to carry what had become an important part of his health routine.
No case. No system. No dignity. Protocol Ritual was created to change that.
That experience captured something bigger than a simple inconvenience. It exposed a problem that millions of people managing home-injection protocols experience every day. Patients are often given a prescription and then left to figure out everything else on their own.
A Problem Lived Firsthand
From Routine to Frustration
Like many people starting TRT, Keenan expected the medical side of the process to be the challenging part. What he didn’t expect was the constant frustration that followed after leaving the doctor’s office.
Over the next three years, every pharmacy refill seemed to bring something different. Manufacturers changed. Supplies varied. Equipment was inconsistent. Just when a routine started to feel familiar, something would change and the learning process would start all over again.
To solve the problem, he did what many resourceful patients do: he started buying supplies in bulk.
When Organization Still Falls Short
At first, it seemed like the answer. But instead of eliminating the frustration, it simply moved it. The pharmacy chaos became drawer chaos. Boxes of syringes, needles, alcohol pads, and supplies filled bathroom drawers and cabinets. Everything was technically there, but nothing felt organized.
The clutter itself wasn’t the real issue: the issue was what it represented. Every time that drawer opened, it felt like a reminder that he had been handed a protocol and expected to manage an entire system on his own.

Then one day, a guest opened the wrong drawer. Suddenly, the lack of organization became something much more personal. A private part of his healthcare was exposed in a moment he never chose. That’s when it became clear that this wasn’t just about storage; it was about dignity.

The larger pad is designed to clean the workspace mat in a single pass before preparation begins. The smaller pad is still larger and more saturated than standard pharmacy alternatives, making site preparation easier and more effective.
It’s the same philosophy behind every decision we’ve made: someone should finally care enough to improve the things people use every week.
